So you want to write kids’ books? Here’s what worked for me:
- Read at least 100 recent books in the style or genre you’d like to write
- Brainstorm at least 25 story ideas – sometimes amazing ideas are hiding behind some okay ideas
- Write write write!
- Find a critique partner or group to share stories and feedback
- Take classes, read articles, and do workshops/webinars on building your writing skills
Want to see if your local library or Hoopla has a book you found on Amazon/Barnes and Noble/Goodreads?
