Once upon a time, a small, bespectacled chick of African-American, Jamaican and Panamanian descent escaped from her tiny suburban Jersey town to study writing in New York City.
After traveling the Eastern Seaboard with clowns, elephants, and carnies, she escaped from the circus and ran away to Hollywood.
Eventually, she fled the studios to make the world a better place by teaching computer skills to veterans and other people struggling in the job market.
While teaching, she fell in love with writing novels, stand up comedy routines, middle grade books, and picture books. Especially picture books.
The bespectacled chick now lives in sunny Southern California with her handsome sweetheart, their purry ninja kittens named Sophie Grace and Scooter, and their betta fish named Monsieur Clair de Lune, whose bowl is maintained by the services of Mr. Andretti, a gold mystery snail.
